As competitive triathletes and fitness coaches ourselves, putting together the inaugural Paramus Triathlon to help raise money for the Paramus Education Foundation was a huge undertaking last year, but one that made a lasting impression. Raising over $20,000 for our first-time event with nearly 200 athletes, we intend to continue to raise the bar in the years to come!

FOUNDERSMaven Sports Medicine is physical therapist-owned sports physical therapy and fitness-focused practice in Paramus, NJ. Our mission is to bridge the gap between rehab and fitness, and we have been successfully doing so for over 10 years. At Maven, we believe that community involvement is a necessary professional endeavor. From the get-go, we infused community outreach into our business model- and what better way as a healthcare business to help others than to get our community to be more active. In fact, all of Maven's fundraising endeavors have centered around physical activity, whether it be sponsoring the Paramus Run, holding free fitness bootcamps, our Maven Project, or directing the Zimele Bikeathon; our focus has always been about getting people to simply get up and move. Yes, we all have excuses as to why our everyday lives are so "busy," but prioritizing health should never take the backseat for any of us when access to good health is as easy as it is in this area of the country. As competitive triathletes and fitness coaches ourselves, putting together the inaugural Paramus Triathlon to help raise money for the Paramus Education Foundation was a huge undertaking last year, but one that made a lasting impression. Kids Splash N' Dash2014 marks the first year that we'll be hosting the Kids' Splash N' Dash at the Paramus Pool. We believe that children and youth should prefer physical activity over their "smart toys!" Athletes ages 7-15 are eligible to participate.
There will be two divisions for our young athletes to compete: Dash
12-15 year olds will complete a 300 meter swim (6 length x 50 meters in the long course pool) and run the 5k
7-11 year olds will complete a 100 meter swim (2 lengths x 50 meters in the long course pool) and run 1 mile
16 yrs & older, athletes may compete in the adult sprint triathlon as an individual or relay team.Training for and competing in a short swim-run race can be a new and fun experience for many kids and teens out there! The best part? Every athlete that crosses the finish line gets to take home a finisher medal!
